The (G|D)rowing Distraction: Grow Up, America

The (G|D)rowing Distraction: Grow Up, America

I seriously can’t believe how quickly Americans were distracted by the flurry of UFO sightings over the past week. Are you kidding me? Have you not been watching the news for the last five-plus years? Let me break it down for you because clearly, some of you need a reality check.

When you hear a story that starts with, “The FAA is working with major retailers…” you should probably keep that bit of information stored somewhere in your brain. Then, when the clocks change, and people start noticing Amazon and Walmart delivery drones buzzing around the skies, your first reaction should NOT be, “Oh my god, no one knows what these are!”

They are drones. Unmanned aircraft. They come in all shapes and sizes, and yes, some of them might be the size of a bus. Just because you can’t wrap your head around that doesn’t mean you should run around like a confused chicken yelling about UFOs. Odds are, it was a massive, bus-sized drone. It could have been a flying warehouse carrying packages and deploying smaller drones like some sci-fi movie scene. And yes, it might even look like the GD end of days. But let me assure you—it’s just logistics, not aliens.

You don’t work at Amazon or Walmart’s R&D department, so of course, you have no idea what their delivery drones look like or how they operate. Amazon isn’t exactly broadcasting a live video feed from their labs. But here’s a pro tip: not knowing doesn’t mean it’s a mystery from beyond the stars. It’s a delivery drone. End of story.

Look, I get it. Drones in the sky can seem a little eerie. They’re big, they’re quiet, and they’re flying in places we don’t usually associate with aircraft. But that’s the world we’re living in now. Retailers have been working with the FAA for years to roll out drone deliveries, and we’re finally seeing the results of those plans. So maybe… stop freaking out? Just don’t worry about it. It’s not the end of the world. It’s not aliens. It’s just progress. It’s just delivery drones.

And seriously, grow up.

Summary

This article addresses the recent frenzy over UFO sightings and reminds readers to consider the growing presence of delivery drones. The piece highlights how major retailers like Amazon and Walmart have been collaborating with the FAA for years to develop drone delivery systems. It emphasizes that the large, unfamiliar objects people are spotting in the skies are likely advanced drones and not alien spacecraft. The author urges readers to avoid unnecessary hysteria, accept the advancements in technology, and move on. The overarching message? It’s time to grow up and adapt to a world where delivery drones are a normal part of the landscape.
