🎲GAME/BLOG INTRODUCTION
Welcome back, fellow survivors, to Tracks of Terror: The Last Train to Save Your Butt—where each day, I, Barnabas, fight to keep us all alive aboard this speeding nightmare. Yesterday, we faced the autorack car’s undead threat head-on, and let me tell you, it got complicated when Penny wanted to Persuade while I insisted we Fight. Let’s break down the aftermath.
🎁 HOW IT WORKS
As always, the potential actions are Fight ⚔️, Sneak 👣, Improvise 🛠️, Persuade 🗣️, or Loot 🔍. Only one choice truly leads to safe progress, but now we’re clearing about 50% of each train car at a time. Each day, I reveal whether we made the best call—or just got lucky. Tally your correct guesses for a shot at our mystery prize, and stay alert for loot box events, because they can happen any time.
🦠 BACKSTORY REMINDER
I escaped a zombie-infested city by leaping onto a runaway train, only to discover it was filled with horrors of its own. After a catastrophic pileup, I spotted another locomotive pulling out. I jumped onboard with a few other survivors, including Penny, who’s got a knack for reading people. We’re now stuck in this autorack car, half of which is overrun with the undead—and the rest is overrun with anxious people. My job? Keep us alive, day by day.
Day 8: “The Autorack Ambush”
Yesterday’s Dilemma
We had half the autorack to secure. Zombies loomed at the far end, weaving between parked vehicles. Penny believed rallying the scattered survivors—Persuade—would funnel the undead away. I believed in a more direct solution: Fight, forming a strike team to wipe out the threat before it could spread. In the end, we kind of wound up doing both.
How It Played Out (From My POV)
- Penny convinced a group of survivors to create a ruckus, banging metal ramps and flashing car headlights. This lured at least half the zombies to one side.
- I led a small assault team, armed with a fire axe (mine), plus a crowbar and makeshift spears. We hit the cluster of undead that advanced on us.
- The plan got hairy fast when one zombie crawled out from under an SUV, snagging a survivor’s foot. We wrestled it off in time, but he ended up bitten. Nothing I could do—he didn’t make it.
- Despite the losses, we cleared about 50% of the autorack, securing a small safe zone. Enough to hunker down for the night, but not enough to truly relax.
Assessment
- Persuade partially succeeded: Without Penny’s diversion, we’d have had even more undead up in our faces.
- Fight was necessary too, because you can’t just sweet-talk a horde of zombies into leaving. Sometimes, steel meets skull.
- But combining two half-baked strategies was risky. We lost some good folks, and the constant commotion drained our morale.
What About the Other 3 Choices?
- Sneak 👣
- Quiet infiltration might’ve worked, but with so many survivors stumbling around, the odds of a silent approach were slim. One crash or scream, and it’s over.
- Improvise 🛠️
- Building traps or barricades could’ve been great with more time. But time is never on our side here, especially with panic-prone people.
- Loot 🔍
- Searching vehicles for gear in the heat of battle? We’d be rummaging while zombies closed in. High risk, high chance of losing more folks.
THE SCENE: WHAT’S LEFT OF THE AUTORACK
We holed up in the center of the autorack, resting for a few hours. The overhead lights flicker now and then, revealing the far end where moans echo from behind blocked-off SUVs. Someone rigged a chain across the aisle—temporary, but it won’t hold if enough zombies push at once.
Penny sits by a battered sedan, cradling a flashlight and looking exhausted. She’s replaying that chaotic fight in her head, blaming herself for not controlling the crowd better. I keep telling her we did what we had to, but guilt’s a powerful thing.
Meanwhile, a few other survivors rummage for water and medical supplies. No luck yet. The sealed door to the next car remains locked from the inside, which is… concerning. Could mean there’s trouble waiting on the other side. Or maybe a paranoid group is barricaded in there.
Subtle Clue: A faint scuttling noise can be heard from under another SUV. Could be a rat. Or a zombie lying in wait. Hard to say—but we’d best not ignore it.

Now we aim to clear the rest of the autorack. One final push, or else we risk an undead ambush at any moment. What’s our next move?
- Fight ⚔️ – Launch a coordinated strike while we still have the initiative. Finish them off.
- Sneak 👣 – Crawl between vehicles, take out remaining zombies quietly to avoid a horde response.
- Improvise 🛠️ – Reinforce that chain, set up a trap, or corral the undead into a kill zone.
- Persuade 🗣️ – Try once more to organize the survivors for a bigger, better diversion. Keep the undead’s attention split.
- Loot 🔍 – Check that SUV with suspicious noises—and any other locked cars—for supplies or a potential edge.
🔥 CLIFFHANGER: WILL WE FINISH THE JOB?
Half an autorack is no man’s land, zombies and possibly worse drifting in the shadows. Tomorrow, I’ll report how we move forward—and whether we find more lost souls or more lethal surprises. Keep your eyes open and your wits sharp, survivors.
Remember: each guess could help you snag that final grand prize—or a loot box treasure, should we stumble upon one. Stay alive out there.
