After a full week of fun and sales, the living room has officially tapped out as the headquarters for our Whatnot adventures. It has served us well, but it’s time for a change. This weekend marks the beginning of a brand-new setup—the garage is getting a full studio makeover!
The Plan:
- Clearing and Cleaning: First, the garage needs some TLC. A solid cleanup will set the stage for everything else.
- Flooring Upgrade: We’ve got a lock-together rubber floor and a rubber mat on the way to create a comfortable and insulated space for standing and streaming.
- Staging and Lighting: The backdrop, camera angles, and lighting will be set up to create a pro-level Whatnot experience.
- Tech Setup: The iPad will be clamped in place, the iPhone will sit on a tripod, and everything will be positioned to maximize efficiency.
- 8-Tracks and Gear: The move begins! All the collectibles, records, and DJ gear will transition into their new home.
Call-In Feature Coming Soon?
We are also looking to add a live call-in system to the show! Right now, we’re on the hunt for a good speakerphone (preferably from a thrift store) to make this happen. The goal is to set up a dedicated line where people can call in live during the show. We’re also exploring Discord voice chat as an alternative way to bring in some live interaction.
