🎲GAME/BLOG INTRODUCTION
Welcome once again to Tracks of Terror: The Last Train to Save Your Butt. I’m Barnabas, your reluctant guide through each nightmarish car on this runaway locomotive. Last time, I narrowly escaped becoming plant fertilizer in the greenhouse compartment, thanks to R.C. and Penny’s quick intervention. Now, as the greenhouse becomes more hostile and the rest of the crew lags behind, Penny and R.C. appear to be losing patience—both with our slow progress and, frankly, with us.
The Scene
We’re still near the exit of the overgrown greenhouse car, battered from slicing through vines and stumbling over slippery, root-choked floors. The overhead irrigation system keeps dripping that toxic-looking green fluid, thickening the foliage by the second. A few survivors have managed to pry open the next door, revealing a dim corridor beyond. The group is scattered, anxious, and exhausted.
Penny stands near the threshold, arms crossed, scanning the room with a restless glare. R.C. paces beside her, wincing at his bandaged side but clearly itching to move on.
Why Are Penny and R.C. Fed Up?
- R.C.: “I’ve nearly died half a dozen times saving folks who can’t keep up,” he mutters under his breath, loud enough for me to catch. “If they’re not willing to fight or run, that’s on them.”
- Penny: “We can’t keep babysitting the dead weight,” she says, her voice laced with frustration. “Barnabas, I know you’re trying, but this crew is either terrified or just slowing us down.”
Their tension is palpable. A few survivors overhear and glance away, embarrassed or resentful. I swallow hard, caught between my loyalty to these people and the reality that Penny and R.C. might not stick around if it means risking their own lives again and again.
Current State of Affairs
- Greenhouse Car: On the verge of completely overrunning itself with monstrous plant growth. Another five minutes here, and we might be tangled in vines for good.
- Next Car: The door stands half-open, ominously dark, with only the faint flicker of emergency lights beckoning us. Who knows what fresh horror lies beyond?
A handful of survivors cling to each other, uncertain. Some look at Penny and R.C. as if hoping they’ll still lead the charge. Others inch closer to me, Barnabas, quietly asking, “Are they… leaving us behind?”
Subtle Clue: Overhead, the greenhouse lights flicker violently. A tangled mass of vines is creeping up the walls, dangerously close to shorting out the entire electrical system. If it does, we’ll be stranded in darkness, with or without R.C. and Penny.
Your New Moves
As Penny and R.C. debate ditching the group altogether, each person must decide how to handle this fraying alliance—and the creeping, ever-hostile greenhouse.
- Fight – If you’re done with half-measures, you might cut a path forward by force, commanding the rest to follow or be left behind.
- Sneak – Slip quietly into the next corridor while Penny and R.C. argue with the others. If they want to bail, maybe you can slip out unnoticed.
- Run – Take a cue from Penny and R.C. Sprint ahead, ignoring stragglers. Sometimes, survival means outrunning those who slow you down.
- Fix – Attempt to halt the greenhouse’s takeover. Maybe sealing the irrigation lines or cutting power can buy everyone more time—even if Penny and R.C. don’t wait.
- Help – Rally the scared survivors, offering them a chance to prove they’re not just “dead weight.” Convince Penny and R.C. that the group is worth saving.
CLIFFHANGER: WILL PENNY & R.C. LEAVE?
You can feel the tension snapping like vines about to break. If the group can’t unite—or at least hustle—the greenhouse’s creeping vegetation won’t discriminate. It’ll claim every last body in its path.
Tomorrow, we’ll see if we keep Penny and R.C. on our side… or watch them vanish into the next car, leaving the rest of us to fight the greenery alone.
Survivors, choose wisely. Your next move determines whether we stay together—or fracture for good.
Help.
