Hey everyone,
If you’ve popped over to Nitetime.net recently, you’ve seen the “Coming Soon” page humming along with its flashy lights and my intensely focused (read: slightly smug) face in the background. Well, that’s not just for show – that’s the real deal. We’re deep in the trenches, building the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) of the new Nitetime.net, and I’m thrilled to share a progress update.
This time around, it’s different. I’m not just reliving the good old days; I’m building it right. We’re laying down a solid foundation, block by block, on Google Cloud Platform, and yes, I’m doing a surprising amount of this from my iPad. It’s a modern app from the ground up, designed to be fast, scalable, and genuinely useful, unlike some of the flash-over-function approaches of the past.
A Date with Destiny (and MC Chris)
And speaking of dates, we now have a very specific target for getting this thing live for the public: July 29th.
Why July 29th? Because that’s when the legendary MC Chris is playing in Madison! For me, this isn’t just a random date; it’s the perfect catalyst. I want that show to be the very first, proudly featured event listing on the new Nitetime.net. Imagine: the site goes live, and boom – there’s MC Chris, front and center, signaling the return of truly relevant nightlife info.
I’m even thinking about heading down there myself. Maybe toss out some Nitetime.net t-shirts, connect with the Madison crowd, and perhaps even convince MC Chris to join us in celebrating the rebirth of Madison’s nightlife guide. It’s going to be a night to remember, and the perfect way to kick off this new era.
The “Secret Sauce” is Cooking
We’re pouring all that “secret sauce” we talked about into the code:
- Real-Time Vibe Reports: Like Waze for bars – know the crowd before you go.
- Bar × Band × Date Discovery: That intuitive 3-axis filtering that just works.
- Hyperlocal Listings: Find what’s hot near you, right now.
This isn’t just a website; it’s a tool built by people who love nightlife, for people who love nightlife. The goal is to make finding your perfect night effortless, whether you’re looking for a specific band, a certain type of bar, or just want to see what’s happening around you tonight.
The work is intense, but the excitement is real. I’m genuinely having a blast building something I truly believe in, the way it always should have been.
Stay tuned. The night is young, and Nitetime.net is about to make its grand return.
