Welcome back, fearless survivors, to Tracks of Terror: The Blog. Yesterday, you guessed how I might handle a flooded car teeming with who-knows-what lurking beneath the water’s surface. Today, we’ll see which choice saved me from a soggy demise—and the harrowing alternatives I dodged by picking the right move.
🎁 HOW IT WORKS
Every day, I enter a new train car and face five possible actions: Fight ⚔️, Sneak 👣, Improvise 🛠️, Persuade 🗣️, or Loot 🔍. Only one keeps me alive. The next day, I reveal the winning path and how the other four go horribly wrong. The person with the most accurate guesses at the end earns our mystery prize, and remember, your participation also enters you in any loot box drawings we uncover—no purchase necessary!
🦠 BACKSTORY REMINDER
In a desperate bid to flee an undead-ravaged city, I hopped onto a runaway train. Surprise: it’s jam-packed with zombies, pitfalls, and no end to the madness in sight. I’m determined to reach the locomotive and wrestle control from whatever forces are fueling this nightmare on rails—if I can survive each deadly car along the way.
Day 5: “The Ransacked Med-Bay Car”
What Worked Yesterday (REVEAL)
From Day 4’s “Flooded Car,” the lifesaving move was:
Loot 🔍
Sounds risky, right? But in that ankle-to-knee-deep water, the only way to navigate safely was to find a piece of gear that could help. Amid the floating trash and broken luggage, I discovered a partially intact waterproof flashlight and a sturdy length of rope. Using the flashlight to spot deeper holes in the submerged floor, I managed to avoid plunging into underwater compartments. The rope helped me probe the murk ahead—and also haul myself past a broken section where the water got chest-high. I still nearly panicked when something brushed my leg, but I made it out dripping wet yet miraculously alive.
How the Other 4 Would Have Failed
- Fight ⚔️
Swinging a weapon blindly in dark, sloshing water? A surefire way to slip and drown, or simply get dragged under by whatever lurked in there. You can’t slash a puddle—and if something grabbed my foot, it’d be over. - Sneak 👣
Trying to tiptoe through unseen hazards is practically a death wish. One wrong step into a hidden hole, and I’d be submerged, gasping, while potential undead (or jagged debris) ended me quick. - Improvise 🛠️
Attempting to “fix” the flood by shoving debris around or patching a hole mid-deluge would have wasted valuable time. Meanwhile, the water might surge, or the train could jolt, leaving me pinned under floating wreckage. - Persuade 🗣️
Calling out in a watery car? I’d either spook a hidden threat, run out of breath in the rising humidity, or draw attention to myself. Worse yet, if any infected lurked under the surface, they’d zero in on the source of my voice.
THE SCENE: THE RANSACKED MED-BAY CAR
The next door opens into a cramped medical compartment—hospital-like curtains draped from the ceiling rails, some half-torn and dangling. Rows of lockers line one side, most bent and pried open. Discarded bandages and broken vials litter the floor. A sickly chemical odor lingers in the air, making my eyes water.
In the faint emergency lighting, I spot empty medicine cabinets flung wide, their contents either looted or destroyed. A row of cots stands askew; a few have dried blood stains. The sense of desperation is thick here—patients or survivors must’ve once barricaded themselves inside, hoping for aid. Now, the only signs of life are scurrying noises behind the curtains. Could be rats… or the undead. My heart quickens at a faint scraping sound, like metal dragging over tile. If there’s anything left to salvage in here, it won’t come easy.

- Persuade 🗣️ – Try to reason or call out for any survivors, hoping they’re not already infected.
- Loot 🔍 – Scour the place for medicine, supplies, or a working tool—despite the dangers lurking.
🔥 CLIFFHANGER: BEHIND THE CURTAIN
I hear a wet scraping noise from the far side of the med-bay, and my flashlight flickers. Sweat beads on my forehead—maybe from nerves, maybe from that chemical stink. Tomorrow, I’ll reveal which choice saves my hide… and which ones spell curtains for me in this broken medical ward.
