🎲GAME/BLOG INTRODUCTION
Welcome back, unyielding survivors, to Tracks of Terror: The Last Train to Save Your Butt! I’m Barnabas, here to recap how each of us faces the looming nightmare in Car 14. Today, we have a classic split: R.C. wants to Fight, while Penny plans to Improvise—both aiming to put a stop to whatever regeneration-crazed horror EmergenTek cooked up behind that sealed door.
🦠 BACKSTORY REMINDER
We hopped trains after our original ride crashed into a zombie-infested wreck. Now we’re stuck in EmergenTek’s twisted Car 14, rumored to contain subjects that can’t die—or at least are extremely hard to kill. Our last move was a partial success; R.C. and Penny wiped out minor zombies in the corridor, but the bigger threat—labeled “Subject 3: Tissue Regen”—still lurks behind a flickering, locked partition.
Day 16: “Car 14—Facing the Regenerator”
Individual Choices
- R.C. (Fight ⚔️)
Powered by the Catalyst #4 serum, R.C.’s gone full berserker. Despite broken ribs and a limp, he refuses to let anything slow him down. He’s armed with a machete, plus a freeze grenade looped at his belt, and he’s itching to tear open that door. - Penny (Improvise 🛠️)
She’s not keen on a headlong assault against a regenerating monster. Instead, Penny wants to use the environment—maybe that floor-release trap, leftover cryo-tech, or freeze grenades in a more strategic way. “If we can’t kill it, we can contain it… or drop it,” she mutters.
How the Clash Unfolds
- R.C. Charges In
- Before anyone can say otherwise, R.C. rams his shoulder into the sealed door. A shower of sparks, followed by a screech of steel.
- The door slides partway open—just enough for a thick, grotesque arm to swing out, nearly knocking R.C. off his feet. He responds with a brutal machete slash that draws greenish-black ichor.
- A roar echoes from within, so loud it rattles the overhead lights. R.C. keeps slashing, fueled by adrenaline (and maybe the serum), refusing to back down.
- Penny’s Improvise
- While R.C. holds the creature’s attention, Penny scrambles to a side console near the door. “There’s gotta be a release switch!” she shouts, scanning half-fried panels.
- She spots a hatch labeled “CRYO DUMP,” presumably tied to the freeze tech or leftover cryo-chambers. Penny jams her crowbar under the panel. Sparks fly, and a blast of frigid air seeps out.
- She tosses a freeze grenade into the open chamber, hoping to supercharge the cold effect. Frost snakes across the floor in creeping tendrils. If she can lure the beast over that freezing patch, maybe it’ll slow or seize up.
Outcome: Partial Success, Major Danger
- Together, R.C. and Penny’s gambit stuns the monstrous “Subject 3.” For a moment, the frost creeps over its legs, halting its charge.
- But the advantage doesn’t last. We watch, horrified, as the creature’s charred, frozen flesh begins knitting back together in real time, thick cords of sinew re-fusing under a layer of ice. It roars again, thrashing wildly, cracking the frost away.
- A spiked tail (or maybe an elongated spine) lashes out, clipping R.C.’s machete hand. Blood spatters the wall. Penny screams for him to retreat, but he’s too amped up to listen. He lunges in again.
Subtle Clue: The regeneration isn’t instant—freezing and cutting it definitely slows the healing process. But it’s not enough to keep it down for long. We might need repeated hits… or some permanent containment strategy.
THE SCENE: THE CRITICAL HALF OF THE CAR
Car 14’s final chamber is a half-collapsed lab, full of shattered cryo-tubes and broken cables. The door is jammed open, letting the moans of scattered zombies drift in from behind us. Sparks flicker across the frosty floor, dancing around the creature’s feet. R.C. is in a frenzy, ignoring pain, while Penny desperately tries to keep that cryo system pumping cold air.
Meanwhile, I’m stuck behind a knocked-over console, watching the carnage. The other survivors hover at the corridor entrance, torn between helping and staying the hell out of the line of fire.

We’re halfway through the final showdown with a regenerating abomination. What’s your personal strategy to survive and (hopefully) finish this?
- Fight ⚔️ – Jump in beside R.C. for an all-out assault. Repeated freezing and slashing might keep this monster from fully healing.
- Sneak 👣 – Circle around quietly, looking for any structural weakness or a chance to flank the creature unseen.
- Improvise 🛠️ – Focus on Penny’s plan: rig more cryo dumps, reconnect power to the floor release, anything to contain it for good.
- Persuade 🗣️ – Rally the other survivors hiding in the corridor. We need every able hand to coordinate a takedown.
- Loot 🔍 – Search the rubble for any last-minute gear—maybe there’s a hidden override or chemical that can disrupt its regeneration once and for all.
🔥 CLIFFHANGER: CAN YOU KILL WHAT WON’T DIE?
The regenerating Subject 3 is more formidable than anything we’ve faced. R.C. and Penny’s combined approach halted it briefly, but it’s already healing again. Tomorrow, we’ll learn who emerges from this frost-laced battlefield—and whether we finally put this abomination down, or become its next meal.
Stay vigilant, survivors. Each new day we cheat death is another day to hope for rescue—or at least a calmer future beyond this train of horrors.
